SPANISH NEW YEAR
Christmas in Spain
Bulgarian experience
The program of Erasmus was an unforgettable experiencie. I have learnt a lot. I shared a lot of things of my european mates, they learned things of my country and I learned things of their country also.
I would like to repeat it because I think that this type of things open our minds.
The Erasmus program was a nice experience for me, I had a great time with my colleagues from other European countries, and I made many friends there. I got to know the traditions of Bulgaria, and their typical food. Burgas is a very beautiful city and I really liked the “Sea Garden” and the beach. I liked practicing English every day. I would love to repeat this experience.
My Bulgarian experience was wonderful. I enjoyed a lot and I knew some new friends. I liked the activities we did there and also, the places we visited. I shared really nice moments with everyone and I would like to repeat this experience again
In my opinion, these Erasmus projects are the best part of being students. They make you expand your knowledge not only from a classroom and meet people from other countries as their culture and language. Bulgaria for me has been an experience that I would repeat, not only for all the people I have met but also for everything we have learned and the interesting activities that were prepared for us.
Flash mob about a healthy life
MIGRATION
Looking for a job was the first reason to emigrate to Spain, in some cases They already had some families here and some of them their mothers, fathers , or relatives are Spanish.
Talking about their visits to their home countries, the sixty per cent often visit their families (at least twice a year) the rest once every two years and the fifteen per cent havent travelled back since five years now.
They miss their customs and traditions , especially food, festivals and of course , their relatives.

STEREOTYPES
Is it possible to be free of stereotypes and prejudices?
Depending on the place where you live, apart from development of this country it also depends on the people you live with. Since you are small you are influenced by the thoughts and the ways of living of this culture … but me must coexist and be capable of being able to abstract ourselves not to be influenced by them and to judge rationally
Have you experienced situations where you believe someone had inaccurate perceptions of you due to cultural or other reasons? How did you react?
Yes, we have, we must ignore the prejudices but we are often affected by them. Sometimes our ideology, our nationality and our style of dressing can be badly judged.
How are stereotypes and prejudices connected with discrimination and social inclusion?
We must been aware that the stereotypes are words that refer to social important realities and whose effects are the reason of pain of thousands of people in the planet. We all have stereotypes because our mind organizes the concepts in categories, and they are not always negatives since it is necessary to understand them. For example, if we know a foreign black woman, we are classifying her under the groups of woman, foreigner and black race. Stereotypes arise towards them from three groups and in case they are negative we will have some beliefs and ideas on them that surely do not correspond with the reality. If a stereotype is negative, negative prejudices can be generated Negative prejudices lead us to the discrimination and the social exclusion
What can you do to combat discrimination and exclusion?
Actually, there are different ways to combat discrimination and exclusion, but we can contribute with our part to reach the no discrimination. So, we can help people who suffer by means of psychological support, avoiding stereotypes, not criticizing the race of people and their ideology in an offensive way and avoiding prejudices without knowing people, because we can offend them.
In addition, we must promote talks by specialists to young people against discrimination and social exclusion
What do you know about the situation with this issue? What burning issues are you aware of?
Nowadays, these issues are becoming more famous due to the films, the news, the magazines, the books and the social networking sites… We are, little by little, more conscious about what the exclusion and the discrimination entail. However, still a long way to go on educating, empathizing and opening our minds. In this era of telecommunication is easier to be harassed. There are a lot of instances of it because almost everyone has a computer or a mobile phone and we aren’t aware of the danger. There is also, the traditional type of bullying, like exclusion, sneer, isolation, intimidation or aggression.
How is this issue approached in your country by formal authorities and in non-formal way?
They are functions of the INADI to act as organ of application of the Ant discriminatory Law and to spread his beginning, to receive and to centralize denunciations of discriminatory conducts, xenophobia or racist and to report to the public opinion about attitudes and conducts of this type that should demonstrate in any area of the national life. INADI (national Institute against the discrimination the xenophobia and the racism).
Would you like to change/improve the situation with these issues?
We would like to improve the quality of life of these people who continue suffering due to problems as the racism or the xenophobia. We would like that the whole world forgets their prejudices we always must be honest and happy, living our lives and letting the rest live peacefully. We would like that we all were free, that these problems don’t exist, enjoy the life without prejudices.
What can you do to change the situation with the discrimination?
We cannot change everything, but if each one does something to correct it, we could change something on the discrimination. One of the things that we have to do is to treat everybody equally. And if we see someone who discriminates against other person, we should try to speak to him/her to stop this behavior. Other thing that we can do is to try not to have prejudices, not to discriminate anybody for his /her skin, race …
Where can you find support and resources?
It is advisable as the first measure to put in touch with the supposed discriminator informing him by means of a letter or a personal interview of that his behavior might be qualified as a practice of discrimination that could have legal penalties. After this first contact it is favorable to solve the question of a friendly way though in some cases the mediation will have to look for the adoption of some reparatory measures. Besides the legal actions which could be measures of pressure before the public authorities to contact the offices of the state ombudsman and autonomous or to use the mass media to announce the case before the public opinion. The denunciation before national and European organisms like the European Commission against the Racism and the Intolerance, the European Observatory against the Racism and the Xenophobia, or the Committee for the Elimination of the Racial Discrimination of the United Nations.
